I grew up in 1960s rural Warwickshire and was raised more or less by kindly dogs.
My poetry was first published by Indigo Dreams in 2012. My fiction was first published in 2013, in Stories for Homes, Vol 1, an anthology in aid of Shelter, ed. Debi Alper and Sally Swingewood. My story 'East, West', will be included in Stories for Homes, Vol 2, November 2017, and another story, 'The First Hard Rain', shortlisted for the 2016 Manchester Fiction Prize, is included in the Best British Short Stories 2017, ed. Nicholas Royle, pub. Salt.
In 2016, Colour Me In won Triskele Books Big 5 Competition and was later shortlisted for the 2017 Caledonian Novel Award.
I live close to the river Thames and am currently completing my second novel plus a short story collection. I get to know my characters and plots whilst swimming, preferably in the north sea.
